The Houston GLBT Community Center
Houston Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, & Transgender Community Center provides a home for the birth nurture and celebration of our organizations institutions and culture cares for our groups in need educates the public and our community empowers our individuals and groups to achieve their fullest potential.
The Center for AIDS
The Center for AIDS: Hope & Remembrance Project is dedicated to educating those affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as their friends, families and healthcare providers, about the latest developments in HIV/AIDS treatment and research. This work is accomplished through direct education and outreach, freely distributed patient-oriented and professional publications, and special programs and meetings.
Legacy Community Health Services
Legacy Community Health Services currently offers primary health care, eye care, prevention
education, social services, and clinical research services, among others. It has received look-
alike FQHC status for its efforts to expand services to indigent and uninsured clients.
PFLAG/HATCH Youth Scholarship Foundation
PFLAG Houston and HATCH (Houston Area Teen Coalition of Homosexuals) have jointly created the PFLAG/HATCH Youth Scholarship Foundation which offers a scholarship program to assist worthy youth in the Houston area in pursuing a college education. The scholarship program is for lesbian, gay bisexual or transgendered students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement while in high school or college. In addition to helping provide for higher education, PFLAG and HATCH hope that our scholarship recipients will provide positive role models for other youth who cannot be open about their orientation.
People with AIDS
People With AIDS Coalition-Houston empowers people living with HIV disease to achieve independence and self-reliance through advocacy, education and responsive services.
Lesbian Health Initiative
A nonprofit organization whose mission is to identify, address, educate, serve and empower the Houston lesbian community in all its diversity, on issues of health and well-being.
Lazarus House
The Lazarus House is a nonprofit organization that provides a complete, low cost program of wellness in a comfortable, nonclinical environment for chronically ill clients suffering from disease related wasting syndrome or cachexia.
Bayou City Performing Arts
The Bayou City Performing Arts (BCPA) sing to achieve excellence in choral music, provide a nurturing environment for all our members and offer a source of pride, unity and support to our diverse communities. BCPA is comprised of the Gay Men's Chorus of Houston (GMCH) and the Bayou City Women's Chorus (BCWC).
Pride Houston
Pride Houston is an energetic group of committed volunteers who meet year-round to develop, coordinate, promote and organize the annual Pride events for our community. It is our goal to create the means by which gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons can commemorate, educate and celebrate; we build on our past while creating new paths toward a positive future for all humanity, not excluding any aspect of who we are as a people.
